Can you eat caramelized onions on a candida (yeast-free) diet?

candida yeast
Karen C asked:

My boyfriend is trying this diet and can’t eat anything that promotes yeast within the body. We’re wondering, since sugar promotes yeast, can you eat caramelized onions while on this diet?

hey i have candida and have been cleansing for awhile now- i know a lot about the diet.

To answer your question- yes carmelized onions are okay as long as there is no added sugar involved. onions with some butter or oil is just fine- and some herbs too will help with digestion. no sugar of any kind is allowed.

if its the sweetness he’s after- go out and buy pure stevia (powder or liquid) it has anti-fungl properties and has no sugar or carbs. its the only acceptable sweetner. it tastes horrible raw- but when mixed with food it tastes so good!

also i know alot of people use vinegar in their caramelized onion recipes – so use apple cider vinegar not regular vinegar.

hope this helps

These fungi don’t cause any infection as the balance between the bacteria and other considerations is at the right level and the bacteria aren't multiplying to cause the infection.
